有时到了夜深人静的时候我总是睡不着,
我怀疑是不是只有我的明天没有变得更好。

Mummy, why are all the sweets hanging on the trees?
Are you punishing me because i have made you mad?
Mummy, please let me have my sweets back,
I listen to you from now on.
I promise to be good,
I promise...

When was the last time u haf cried? What was it that got the tear glands worked up again?
My parents told me I was a cry baby when I was young and that I cried at the slightest reason you can ever thought of. I cry whenever I hear my dad opens the door and heads out to work. There was once when I even ran out of the bathroom while my mum was bathing me. Up till this moment, I still have got no conclusion for my behavior back then. The only explanation I could tot of was that I must haf miss my dad a lot even though i sees him everyday.
I cry whenever the adults forced me to put on the shoes when I find running ard barefooted to be the most amazing thing back then. Nothing could stop me from enjoying such activity, not even the multiple bruises on my knees and soles, nor the sharp crushed stones pathway that led to the playcorner at the backyard. The adults often teased that I was born in the wrong era, and that I must have ran away from my flinestone family out of mischief. Lol.
Of course, having grown up here, who would nt haf cried over academic performances? In fact, I have lost count of the number of such instances. Guess it just go out to show how bad my results were as a student. I vaguely rmb crying my heart out for one of the maths test when I was in k2. The teacher had to call mum to pick me up as i refused to hand up the paper not till I gt them all right. I must have been too nervous then that I went blank out, not knowing how addition and subtractions works. But it was all fine the day before?!! As expected, I failed with 25 marks. It was the first and only column written with red ink throughout the 3 years of report cards I received.
Unbelievably a cry baby? I won't be surprised by the reaction. haha
As I grow older, the frequency of such crying moments seemed to have taken the exponential curve. Perhaps, putting up a brave front and looking less like a cry baby would save me from all the big bullies in sch. Or maybe as a monitress, i couldn't afford to be such weakling or i lose all the respect and the 'power'. Whatever the real reason, i guess I might have already realised that crying over spill milk will not get you out back then.
I was so inspired to write this entry after knowing our part timer cried in the toilet this morning, a result of overly stressed at work (I must confess this was of no attempt at mockery though). As an working adult, stress has inevitably creeped in and became such part and parcel of life that we seemed to haf grown immunity to it. Or maybe, we have learn to take things easily compared to the past; have adopted the "heck care as long it won't kill" kind of attitude. We don't just cry like a baby waiting for someone to come to our rescue like how our parents did when we wet our pants. It is amazing that the harshness of becoming an adult could give us so much strength to face greater adversities in life. Such strength to live better, i reckon, was no where possible if it was the 'me' a decade ago.
For that, dun we deserve a pat on the shoulder for passing the test of life thus far?
Even if we might not have seen success at this moment, at least we haf nt given up yet.
Cheers to a stronger tmr and a better self! :)
